Dear Hung, This is just to let you know that we have all now returned safely to the UK after an excellent trip to Vietnam . Once again, thanks are due to you and your organization for making our trip such a success. The feedback from the students has been very positive and we think that some of the changes introduced this year were a great success. Going straight from the railway station to Ha Long Bay and staying overnight in Cuc Phuong National Park definitely added positively to the programme. The visit to the mangroves at Can Gio was also a great success.
We will be meeting with the next group of students in May when we will see what king of demand there will be for a trip to Vietnam in 2008. However, I suspect that, like this year, there will be a considerable demand. Assuming that we will run the trip again next year we will, nevertheless, introduce a few changes. I prefer not to opt for the early morning flight from Hanoi to Hue. It was just too stressful trying to get everyone out of the hotel in time. The one comment made by the students was that they would have liked to have visited the DMZ, so we will probably have to reinstate that trip up to Ke Sang. They would also have liked a rest day in Hoi An. However, we do not have to think about the details at this stage but I will get back to you in June about our intentions.

dear manh hung,
we are now back in the uk after our holiday in vietnam and hong kong , and i am writing to give you some feedback especially because of the mix-up. we both enjoyed your beautiful country very much, the part we visited around saigon and the mekong delta, but i think pollution will be a big problem in the future. saigon was amazingly busy and the motorbikes kept us entertained for hours: we only had one minor injury from them! majestic hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful when we had our problems. norfolk hotel very good but not quite as smart. cu chi tunnels rather sad and i would miss them next time- vietnam must look forward not back. the guide you arranged for the delta, KHOA, was excellent. his english was quite ok and his local knowledge of the delta- he was born and brought up there- was invaluable. he looked after us very well and the air conditioned car was very good. both the hotels victoria- kan tho and chau doc- were excellent and we wouild have liked to stay in each of them for several days. we were very sorry not to have visited hue but will have to return to see it and maybe hanoi as well. thank you for your reimbursements, and apologies for the confusion. i think you will have done ok from the trip.

Sorry for the delay in writing to you, but thank you SO much for the fantastic trip you organised for all of us; we had THE most wonderful time in your beautiful country & I know that certainly Ross & I will return again soon!!
All the tour guides & drivers were first class & we all learnt so much from each one. I will certainly give your name to anyone who is thinking of traveling to Vietnam , Hung!
One thing that may be helpful to you for future tours ,Hung was that when we were in Sapa, we did a lot more walking than what was planned on our itinerary. Some of our group struggled with the extra kilometres ( about 9 instead of 3 or 4 ) & perhaps if they had been told how far they had to walk, they then could have chosen whether to do the walk or not...... the reason we did the extra kilometres was because the weather ( quite a bit of rain ) prevented us from going to visit one of the villages on the itinerary & our guide ( who was a truly beautiful girl ) decided to take us to another village.
All the accommodations were wonderful & we (Ross & I ) just loved your beautiful food..... I have been cooking Vietnamese dinners since we arrived back in Australia !!!
Thanks so much once again Hung, for all you caring & your wonderful help. I do hope we see each other again one day.

We have arrived back in Australia now and just wanted to thank you and the staff at Sunshine Hotel & travel for your excellent service. Our Accommodation in Hue and Hoi An were of high quality and the flights and bus connections all went well. Our guide and boat trip up the Purfume river in Hue was also a very good experience.

Dear Manh Hung, there was only little time to say good by yesterday. Sorry about the stress,we did not think about the high traffic-density in Hanoi,and so we were late because of the accident on the road No.1 We would like to thank you again for your care and the politely help you gave us during our travel. The stay in sapa was beautiful.We learned much about the live of the minorities in the countryside, were hiking through the mountains and have enjoyed the nice landscape nearby fansipan mountain. The tour yesterday also was very impressive. We congretulate you to your good staff. The driver is absolutely save and we did trust him all the time.Without his high engagement we would not be able to cach the plain in the evening. Please tell him,we are very happy to had have him as our driver. We have seen, he act as a proof and can be very proud about his ability,because it is not easy to drive a car in this traffic around Hanoi .
The guide yesterday,...she was...just lovely :-) She has a very nice attitude to care for her guests.Her knowledge is brilliant and her behavier like a lady from the wide world...hopefully you know, what we mean. She is a very nice person. So we are absolutely satsfied and happy. Now we stay in Hue for the next 3 days.The travel to come here was easy and without any problems. If you need any recommandations for a nice Hotel here ...we stay in The Pilgrimage village - a really nice and quiet place in the natur outside the city. It is a lovely place just to relax with wunderful staff and a warm atmosphere.
So we thank you again very much and say good by to everybody. We will recommend you to our friends in Germany .

Thank you for your message. All the staff and about half of the students are now back in the UK with the remaining students still in Thailand .
All the feedback that we received from the students was very positive and everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves immensely. The students even may have learned something along the way! We would like to thank you so much for making the trip run so smoothly - even to providing the good weather in Sapa! We were very pleased with all the arrangements and hope to run another trip again next year. We will get back to you at your new address as soon as another trip will be confirmed which should be towards the end of next month. Again, the timing of the next Sussex Vietnam fieldtrip will be March next year although we do not yet have the exact dates.
You will remember that I was not feeling so good on the last two days of the trip and had a bad cough. Unfortunately, this turned into a very nasty lung infection that required treatment with antibiotics and I have only now recovered sufficiently enough to start working again. Hence the delay in getting back to you with a record of our appreciation for all your hard work.
Once again, we thank you for all the effort that you put in to the organization of the trip. It was so good that you could accompany us throughout the trip to ensure that everything went smoothly and we know that the reason for the success of the 2005 Vietnam fieldtrip was directly due to your good organization.
